USA RELEASE: BLOCKBUSTER® FRANCHISEE SELECTS VISIBLE RESULTS

KANSAS CITY, KS (7/15/02)

The Visible Results Group of Companies today announced that JSM Entertainment Limited, Auckland, New Zealand, has adopted its revolutionary GraphiCardT loyalty card technology and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for use in its new BLOCKBUSTER® Rewards loyalty program.

Visible Results USA, based in Kansas City, is a member of The Visible Results Group of Companies. JSM launched the program in mid-June in all 24 New Zealand BLOCKBUSTER® video stores for which it holds licensing rights. The program replaces customers' existing BLOCKBUSTER® membership cards while allowing them to retain their existing membership numbers and rental histories.

BLOCKBUSTER® Rewards features two tiers: BLOCKBUSTER® Rewards and BLOCKBUSTER® Privilege Plus. Members earn one point per dollar spent in BLOCKBUSTER® stores, whether on movie rentals, movie purchases or concession items. Accruing 100 points nets members a "Hollywood Reward" containing BLOCKBUSTER® coupons for in-store rentals; accruing 200 points yields an "Academy Reward" of coupons also redeemable in-store. Upon earning 300 points, members receive an upgrade to PRIVILEGE PLUS status, as well as a prize pack with free new video releases, coupons for revoking extended viewing fees and other BLOCKBUSTER® coupons.

The program also includes an "instant win" component featuring prizes from third-party partners, as well as coupons that entitle users to such perks as free video rental, a $1 video rental with the rental of another video at full price, and complimentary concession items. Burger King, which is participating in the program launch, is among third-party partners. To generate interest in BLOCKBUSTER® Rewards, BLOCKBUSTER® will give away over NZ $1 million worth of prizes in the first year, including a year's free video rentals from each of its stores. Heavy television advertising, Sunday newspaper advertisements and direct mail are also being used to publicize the program.

The introduction of BLOCKBUSTER® Rewards marks the fifth rollout of a GraphiCardT -based loyalty card program in New Zealand. Other retailers with such programs in place include Mobil Oil, Pandoro Panetteria, WISK, HBK Girl and Dymocks Booksellers. The latter company also utilizes GraphiCardT throughout its retail network in Australia and Hong Kong.

With the patented GraphiCardT technology, users' cards are inserted into a small point-of-sale terminal during each sales transaction. A revolutionary thermo-chromic process enables the front of the card to display points accrued through the most recent purchase, along with other personalized data designed to pique consumers' interest. Such data--which is customized for each Visible Results client--can include highly targeted offers, details of special promotions and sales, advertising messages, particulars of instant-win games and more. The terminal instantly prints out customized coupons and similar incentives as transactions are completed. A re-writeable magnetic stripe, incorporated into the back of the card, stores specific data about transactions as they occur. It also allows the back of the card to be automatically re-written every time it is presented, turning it into a self-contained database that eliminates extensive, costly systems integration while encouraging repeated use and fostering customer loyalty.

The technology is supported by a sophisticated customer relationship management (CRM) infrastructure. Point-of-sale information collected during transactions involving program members is downloaded to Visible Results' International DataCenter, which maintains customer databases and issues customized reports specifically for each client. Thus, clients need not employ large IT staffs in their own back offices and can efficiently target marketing offers to individual customers. What's more, they can generate all reports needed to operate, fine-tune, and constantly update the program.
